Publishing Fraud Alert

fraudulent website alert

We have recently been made aware of bad actors fraudulently posing as our business through lookalike websites, emails, social media accounts, phone calls, and text messages. These individuals often request that the author pay them or provide sensitive banking information in exchange for publishing their book with IngramSpark.

  • IngramSpark does not currently offer editing, proofreading, or design services.
  • IngramSpark does not require customers to print copies of their books to make it available for global distribution.

These impersonators are not affiliated with IngramSpark. They are not part of our staff and are in no way affiliated with us. Often these impersonators use materials with IngramSpark logos, staff names, and website domains that closely resemble our official brand and websites. IngramSpark will never ask for sensitive information such as login credentials or banking details via email or phone.

To protect yourself from fraud

  • Do not click on links or open attachments from unknown or suspicious email senders.
  • Do not reply to emails from unknown senders or attempt to contact them via phone, text, or social media.
  • Always hover over the sender’s email address to verify it matches a legitimate IngramSpark domain.
  • Never provide sensitive information such as account passwords, credit card numbers, or personal identification in response to an unknown sender.
  • Be cautious of urgent or threatening language in emails (example: immediate payment required).
  • Check for spelling errors, odd phrasing, or incorrect logos. (example: “LngramSpark” instead of “IngramSpark”)
  • Remember: IngramSpark does not charge fees to upload a book to your account. Any requests for such payments are fraudulent.
  • Be cautious of any contract offers, including advancements.
  • Be cautious of any requests for order fulfillment. IngramSpark will not request inventory of your book.
  • Report suspicious activity to local law enforcement or to the FBI.

Please be aware that www.ingramspark.com is the only official website for IngramSpark. To protect yourself, always verify that you are using our official site www.ingramspark.com,  https://myaccount.ingramspark.com/ and https://help.ingramspark.com/hc/en-us. If you’re ever unsure, contact us directly by clicking on the blue question mark in the bottom right-hand corner of your IngramSpark dashboard.

We strongly encourage anyone targeted by publishing scams to report the matter to their local law enforcement agency, the FBI's Internet Crimes Complaint Center, and the FTC’s fraud reporting website. These databases are actively monitored by law enforcement; reports from targeted authors have spurred investigations that have so far resulted in a number of arrests.

If you receive a message claiming to be from IngramSpark that offers publishing assistance and you suspect it may be fraudulent, please report it to us at legal@ingramcontent.com.
